Day 8 See you later, alligator.

Last Ride Day.

We rode to Devils Tower National Park.

This rock is famous because it was used in a movie called ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’.

People who work in Hollywood movies often associate the strange rocks with the universe.

Ancient Native Americans also have their own romantic stories about them.

At the gate of the park, we discussed whether we would enter because we didn’t have enough time.

That’s because we had to load our bikes onto the trailer truck in the evening.

Wild Bill asked me, ‘Do you want to stay for a long time?’

I replied, ‘Some other time.’

He was a little bit surprised and asked, ‘Zen spirits? You aren’t caught up in the past or future, focusing on the present moment, accepting the present circumstances, and believing in future opportunities.’

Anyway, we decided to make a short visit.

After that, we stopped by the Sturgis Harley dealer and got some souvenirs.

At the motel, we started loading the bikes into the trailer truck.

In America, every man knew how to do that.

Everybody worked together.

I felt the American way of life is both gorgeous and ridiculous.

I envied them a lot.

Next day, everyone headed home, saying “See you later, alligator. Ride again soon.”

“An English teacher’s insight × Harley and American culture × a life shared around sweets. What I’m doing on this website is not decluttering, but a redesign for the next ten years.”
