解説：なぜまちがえたのか？
通常、パイロットに「飛行歴はどのくらいですか？」と尋ねると、その人の経験やキャリア全体についての答えを期待します。しかし、パイロットが「今日も含めて？」と尋ねることで、聞き手はパイロットが実際には今日が初めての飛行だったり、何らかの問題があったことを暗示していると解釈できます。これが、文章が面白いオチとして機能する部分です。日本文化圏で生活していると、今回の笑い話は、あまり面白いとは思えなかったかもしれませんが、アメリカンジョークでは、意外性やひねりというのがあり、通常の期待を裏切ることで笑いを生み出すものと考えています。
