When I was a high school student, I was a member of the basketball team.
I felt the time I spent in my club activities was the most rewarding time at school.
Through my club activities, I learned the importance of teamwork.
I was a beginner and all the others were experienced players.
I practiced hard but I just didn’t seem to be improving.
So I became discouraged and thought about quitting.
But, our captain said to me, “You’re just a beginner. You worked harder than anyone else.
If you give up, the game is over.
His words encouraged me a lot.
So, after team practice, I practiced by myself.
I watched how the best players on the team played and asked them for tips on how to shoot a basketball better.
My team members were kind enough to help me to practice shooting and, finally, I became a starting player of the team.
If my friends had not encouraged me a lot, and if they had not helped me practice, I would have quit the club.
Through this experience, I learned that being considerate of my teammates is important.
If I am admitted into this university, I will challenge myself to take on anything.
I intend to instruct the junior members of the team when they join.
I want to work together as a team to achieve great success.
