これからの英語教員に求められることを予想して

共通テストが終わりましたね。今年の３年間教えてきた生徒の中には、共通テスト９００点満点で８００点に届きそうな７００点台の生徒も何人かいて、このまま東大を目指すか、志望校を替えるか悩みどころです。今は、国立の二次対策として、英作の添削をしています。

英作はこんな風にやっておくと、将来の英語教師としての資産が増えますよ。ということで、自分がやっていることを紹介します。

①生徒の英文を残しておく→この生徒がどう伸びて、どんな学校に実際受かったのかというデータが集める。感覚ではなく、データとして残しておく。
②これからの英語科教員は、「英語力だけではないのでは？」という時代に備える。
というこです。

それでは具体的にみてきましょう。こんな風にして生徒に配信しています。

お題：外国人に日本の歴史を教えるとしたらどの時代を勧めるか？
I recommend that your friend should study Kamakura period. In Kamakura period, the Japanese warriors called “busi” had appeared. Busi had thought families bonds as important. This thought called “busido “. Busido had been reflected in Japanese thought for a long time. Also, a lot of religions had been spread in Kamakura period. The religions had been reflected the difficulty that farmers had lived their life. If you learn about the Kamakura period, you are able to understand the traditional Japanese thought.

　この文は大きく減点です。Be 過去分詞＋名詞は４か５文型が可能な動詞のみだよ！
　それと、difficultyの後ろのthat節が完璧文になっていますが…同格ですか？一般的ではないよう思います。
The religions had reflected the difficulties that farmers faced in their lives.
●If you learn about the Kamakura period, you are able to understand the traditional Japanese thought.
If your friend learns about the Kamakura period, he or she will be able to understand the traditional Japanese thought.
文法的にはこんな感じです。

英文だけでなく、論理展開も考えさせるのは言うまでもないことで
「鎌倉時代がいいと思います。」例①「武士道」②「宗教」「鎌倉時代を学ぶと日本の伝統的な考え方がわかるからです。」っていう構成にも磨きをかけていく必要があります。

ところで…「武士道」っていう言葉は、鎌倉時代の言葉なのかな？

ネットで調べると…
「武士道」という言葉は江戸時代になってから生まれる。この時代になると、幕藩体制のもと、武士は実質的な戦士階級ではなくなり、いわば官僚化し、家臣は主君の「サラリーマン」と化していく。幕府は儒学を正学とし、「武士道」は儒教的概念体系で説明されるようになり、この儒教的「武士道」は「士道」と呼ばれる。とありました。
