My 4-Year-Old Granddaughter and Her Hula Dance
My 4-year-old granddaughter has recently started taking hula dance lessons.
Her adorable moves, paired with the tropical rhythm of the music, never fail to bring a smile to my face. Watching her dance is such a heartwarming experience.
The other day, after one of her lessons, the teacher spoke to each student standing on stage and asked them one by one:
“What kind of sweets do you like?”
“Cake!”
“Chocolate!”
—came the expected, classic answers.
Then it was my granddaughter’s turn.
The teacher gently asked her the same question, and she confidently replied:
“Squid!”
…Wait, squid?
The teacher looked a bit puzzled and turned toward my daughter, the little one’s mom, as if to confirm what she’d just heard.
Flustered and blushing, my daughter quietly responded,
“Dried squid. She means dried squid…”
Needless to say, the whole room was soon filled with warm laughter.
Later that day, my daughter said with a smile,
“I should’ve taught her to say ‘financier’ or something.”
Among all the sweet answers, her unique and slightly salty choice really stood out.
She brightens our days in the most unexpected ways.
４歳の孫娘のフラダンス。
可愛い踊りに、南国の雰囲気が漂って…毎回癒されています。
先日、フラダンス教室での練習が終わった後、
先生がステージ上に並ぶ生徒一人一人に、
「どんなお菓子が好きですか？」と
語りかけてきたのだそうです。
「ケーキ」
「チョコレート！」などと、王道的な回答が続き、
最後にうちの孫娘に先生が尋ねると…
「イカ！」
……ん？イカ？？？
先生も一瞬きょとんとした表情で、母親である娘のほうに視線を向けたそうです。
娘もとっさに
「スルメイカです」と、小さな声で真っ赤になって答えたそうです。
帰宅して娘に言われました。
「フィナンシェ」って教えておけばよかったって。笑
